Native College Students Sought for Television Training Program

The American Indian Summer Institute is seeking Native American students ages 18 to 28 for the 7th annual workshop June 22-28 in Los Angeles. Students in the workshop sponsored by the FOX Entertainment Group Diversity Development Department and the Native Media and Technology Network will receive hands-on training in television industry.

Organizers are also seeking sponsors for the workshop.

Native Voices at the Autry Seeking Scripts for New Series

The Los Angeles-based Native Voices at the Autry is accepting scripts for a new program, First Look Series. The program pairs selected playwrights with professional directors and actors for an intense eight-hour workshop that will be presented to a public audience, with new plays each month. Material that has been previously developed at other venues may also be submitted.

Deadline is May 15.

NAPT 2008 Program Fund

The 2008 guidelines for NAPT's funding for programs created for national public television broadcast are now online.

Native American producers are encouraged to apply for any stage of production--from research and development to film completion. The postmark deadline is July 16, 2008.

Funding for NAPT's Production Fund comes from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.
New Mexico Fellowship Available for Artists of All Mediums

The Indian Arts Research Center at the School for Advanced Research is seeking artists to apply for the Rollin and Mary Ella King Native Artist Fellowship. The program was created to support Native American and First Nations artists in any medium, form or style in  traditional or experimental works. The fellowship includes a $3,000 a month stipend, travel, housing and a studio at the campus based in Santa Fe, N.M.

The postmarked deadline is June 1.
