Professionally, I am a web media pro and educational technologist working in K-12 education. Personally, I am husband, dad, and Cherokee.
My professional background is primarily in mainstream television news.
I am a TV news photojournalist and have worked for the FOX and ABC
affiliates in the Salt Lake market. I've also been a Director of Photography
for a couple of Native American documentaries dealing with social, environmental
and cultural issues. Besides News, I worked with the video production team for
the 2002 Winter Olympics as a Graphics producer for the television broadcast of
the Olympic Winter games. Additionally, other work includes media AV production
for Native health promotions with the US PHS Indian Health Service - as videographer and producer short TV commercial messages etc.
I am a professor of Mass Communication at Winona State University in Winona, Minnesota. I am creator and co-director (with Dr. Miranda Haskie of Diné College) of the Navajo Oral History project, a collaboration between Diné College of The Navajo Nation and Winona State University.
During extended summer field work, Students from both schools work together in teams to interview Navajo elders and create a series of documentaries: 1.) full-length oral history interview, 2.) 7-15 minute Living History feature, 3.) 3-5 minute media piece suitable for viewing on the web.
The first five projects of this collaboration were produced in summer 2009 and have been posted on the WSU Mass Communication web site: Winona360.org. The projects are also archived at the Navajo Nation Museum, Navajo Nation Library, and the libraries of both schools.
In May 2010, four additional Navajo elders were interviewed, and the students are working on completing those projects.

My husband Roger an I produce music videos for Native American people,We want the Native american people to be more aware of the services Roger provides for their enjoyment. We have music videos on Utube at this time. We are in the process of having a TV station called SKYEAGLE. We are in need of funding to keep pushing on for the sucess of this vision for our people, we want so much more awareness of the great gifts they have. I am a Laguna-Pueblo filmmaker based in Brooklyn, New York and specialize in documentaries about contemporary indigenous issues. I have been a member of the media for more than a decade, serving in such roles as an award-winning television news journalist and anchorwoman for CBS News affiliates; as a senior-level producer for the public television outlet, Brooklyn Information + Culture; and as the daily host and producer of the Public Radio International syndicate, National Native News.
My current project is a documentary focused on the 400 villagers of Kivalina, Alaska--a tiny Inupiat community whose ancient homeland is being swallowed by the sea. The film is a project supported by the Native American Public Telecommunications organization (NAPT) and the National Geographic All Roads Film Project.
My story-telling has been awarded by the Associated Press, the National Broadcasters Association, the Telly Awards, and most recently, by the American Indian Film Institute for the short documentary I directed and produced, MODERN DAY WARRIORS (2008). I am a current recipient of the 2009 Firelight Media Producer's Lab, a current fellow of the 2009 Minority Consortia’s New Media Institute and a 2008 fellow of the CPB/PBS Producer’s Academy. I earned my BA in English/Communications-Broadcasting from Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado.
